Commerical Pilot

Commercial pilots can fly for hire. To exercise the full rights of a commercial pilot, you must be at least 18 years old, hold a Class II medical certificate, and have a minimum of 250 hours of flying time. Without an instrument rating, you will be limited as a commercial pilot to only flying on nice, sunny days, so the instrument rating is a highly-recommended prerequisite. You must also pass an Airman Knowledge Test and an FAA Practical Test.

During the commercial pilot flight training, students will gain experience in a complex airplane, i.e., one that has retractable landing gear, flaps, and a controllable-pitch propeller. If you have access to a complex airplane, we can train you in it.

Costs for the Commercial Pilot Certificate will vary greatly depending upon your logged pilot experience. Call and talk to one of our flight instructors to set up a logbook review and a personal quote.
